You'd think that location-based AR games would suffer due to the pandemic, but Niantic made key changes to its games to keep them playable during this time. Pokémon GO is one of the games that has continued to thrive because of that, and now players can expect more updates soon.

The next big update for Pokémon GO has been named GO Beyond and it will be coming on 30 November 2020. As the name suggests, the theme for the update is to exceed the current limits in the game. Specifically, Niantic will be raising the level cap from 40 to 50, introducing Seasons to the game, and adding new Pokémon that were only available in Kalos region previously.

For those who haven't reached the current level cap, Niantic will also be making it easier for you to catch up by increasing the XP gain for catching Pokémon, hatching eggs, and more. With Seasons, the game will now rotate through winter, spring, summer, and autumn. What's interesting is that some Pokémon will appear more often in certain seasons.
