
Nike, a leading global sports equipment and apparel brand, was recently reported to be investigating allegations that its data was hacked by the recently known ransomware hacking group World Leaks. So, what should you know about it?
14TB of Nike data could be at risk
For your information, the hacking group claims to have uploaded 14 terabytes of Nike data. However, the data could not be downloaded or verified, and attempts to locate the hacked data dump have not been successful.
As such, the company's data that was hacked also cannot be verified, but Nike says it is looking for evidence and investigating the allegations. At this time, Nike has not disclosed details of the investigation, nor confirmed that any ransom has been paid to recover the data.
Moreover, sportswear retailers such as Dick's, Macy's and JD Sports have also been questioned about whether the hacking occurred through their platforms, but so far, the companies have not responded to any media inquiries about it.
