Nikon Coolpix S6600 and Coolpix P7800 officially announced

Nikon recently announced their new Coolpix S6600 and Coolpix P7800 digital cameras. What makes the S6600 so notable is that it is the first Coolpix S-series to get a vari-angle monitor which is also available for the Coolpix P7800. The S6600 is more of a flexible consumer model but offers a Gesture Control function for self portrait shots. Other tech specs for the S6600 include a 16MP backside illumination CMOS image sensor, lens-shift vibration reduction, 12x optical zoom NIKKOR lens featuring 2cm macro and built-in WiFi for easy wireless transmission.

The more professional level P7800 offers full-scale manual shooting functions more commonly found in DSLR cameras along with the aforementioned 3-inch vari-angle TFT LCD screen. Tech specs for the P7800 include a 1/1.7-inch backside illumination CMOS sensor, 7.1x optical zoom NIKKOR lens, automatic 30 to 25fps switching and much more. It also supports external Speedlights, GPS, WiFi, Wireless remote controllers and compact LED Light modules. The Nikon Coolpix S6600 will be available in Black, Red and White and should be available if not now then soon in Malaysia for RM960 but release dates in Malaysia or pricing for the Nikon Coolpix P7800 were not available at the moment.
