Nikon has officially announced their flagship Nikon D4S. While it initially made an appearance at CES 2014, at the time it was still in development. However, as we thought at the time, it looks like not much has changed, at least in terms of the design. Keeping the same frame and chassis as the Nikon D4, the Nikon D4S uses a faster EXPEED 4 processor, allowing for 30% shorter processing time, 11fps shots per second in burst mode with autofocus and autoexposure and 1080p video recording at 60 fps. Other notable tech specs and features include an ISO range of 409600 resulting in higher sensitivity for the lower ISO levels and a larger battery.

A new 16.2MP FX-format CMOS sensor and 51-point autofocus system with 15 cross-type sensors round up the features. A new RAW Size S pffers 12-bit uncompressed Nikon NEF files cut down the size of standard RAW files while Gigabit Ethernet lets you transfer these files faster. For playback, the D4S offers 1080p at 60 fps through a HDMI port while recording videos to the internal CF/XQD cards. Like the Apple iPhone 5S, the Nikon D4S is mostly an internal tech spec upgrade with the extra addition of an 'S' to the name. No news on specific Malaysia release dates but the Nikon D4S should be available from 6 March 2014 at $6499.95 (RM21293) for just the body.
