In yet another move by Nintendo, the company has launched its new Nintendo Store mobile app for Android and iOS. However, it is not available in Malaysia, as it launches in the US, Canada, the UK and parts of Europe. On the app, it offers another way to browse consoles, games, merchandise, and earn rewards via mobile check-ins.

App Features at a Glance

The new app enables users to explore Nintendo Switch and upcoming Switch 2 consoles, physical and digital game titles, accessories and branded merchandise. It also delivers push notifications for wishlist items going on sale, the latest Nintendo news, and a review of your play activity (for Nintendo 3DS/Wii U titles, though only up to February 2020).

While the Nintendo Store app offers convenient browsing, it does not support in-app purchases. Selecting an item redirects you to the Nintendo eShop page in your mobile browser to complete a transaction. Beyond shopping, the app supports a rewards system: users at official Nintendo physical stores or events can check in with the app to earn related rewards.

Will It Ever Be Launched in Malaysia?

If we have to guess, it may have something to do with the local launch of the Nintendo eShop and Online Services, which is scheduled on 18 November 2025. We are just a few days away, so until then, we will have to wait and see.

Even so, we still think that Nintendo will need some time to localise the Nintendo Store app before launching in Malaysia (if it's in the plans). After all, it took them so long to launch the local eShop and Online Services after years of the original Switch's popularity. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
