From our last news about the Nintendo Switch 2, it was announced that the new gaming console will be released between July and September this year for Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines. Today, the SEA Nintendo Facebook page announced the availability, but left out Malaysia.

On the Facebook post, it only briefly mentioned that the Switch 2 will be available in Singapore, Thailand and the Philippines on 26 June 2025, which is earlier than expected. However, Malaysia was not mentioned in the post, leading to many jokes and speculations about why we were left out. Although it also shared a link on the post, there are still no references to the prices.

As a refresher, the standard Switch 2 is priced at $449.99, which is around ~RM2,000. There is a good chance the Switch 2 Mario Kart World Set will be launched as well, which includes the flagship video game in a packaged version. The website also stated that there will be a localised Nintendo Switch Online in Singapore, Thailand, Malaysia, and the Philippines, but details, including the launch timing, will be announced at a later date.

There are probably some behind-the-scenes issues that we are not aware of, so we can only wait and see when Nintendo will announce the details for the Malaysian market. Until then, stay tuned for our official news coverage.
