[UPDATE]: A Nintendo representatative has denied that the Nintendo Switch Exchange program has ever existed. However, in a statement to the Verge, the representative had also hinted that it may be possible to get your existing Nintendo Switch models replaced unofficially.

He mentioned, "We always want players to enjoy their Nintendo Switch systems, and if anything ever gets in the way of that, we encourage them to visit http://support.nintendo.com for support, or to contact our consumer support team.” A person claimed that they had gotten their Switch replaced without too much of a wait time (5 days) and Polygon had contacted Nintendo's customer service department which confirmed that they welcome exchange requests.

The updated Nintendo Switch has an extra 3 hours battery life than the original units. Besides that, there aren't any brand new features to the devices. If you're willing to shell out the cash for the shipping fees and don't mind the wait time, maybe you can try your luck! Will you be getting your current Nintendo Switches replaced?
