Looks like the smartphone market is getting more interesting. OPPO and OnePlus have always shared similar designs, features, tech specs, and so forth. However, the same can’t be said about the clamshell foldable design. This is what the OnePlus CEO has to say about it.
In case you didn’t know, OPPO usually release its model exclusively in China first. Then, OPPO will release the same model under its brand for the global market. However, that does not seem to be the case with the OPPO Find N3 Flip. This model will be available outside of China as well.
In addition, Pete Lau, OnePlus CEO and OPPO chief product says, “The target audience for the first-generation folding phone of OnePlus are more like the business elites and technology elites”. He also says that this phone does not match the target audience for OnePlus. However, Pete did mention something interesting. The man added:
“At this stage, we don’t have the plan to launch a flip phone”.
While the CEO is against the clamshell foldable design, that could be a temporary stance. After all, nothing is permanent in the tech industry. Bigger companies have made a U-turn before, so never say never about the possibility that it could happen.
We have yet to confirm when the OPPO Find N3 Flip will arrive in Malaysia. However, we could assume that it’s coming very soon. If you are planning to get this phone, you might want to save up for it.
