TNG Digital has partnered with HR platform Kakitangan.com to introduce a new payroll solution that allows businesses in Malaysia to disburse salaries directly to employees’ TNG eWallet accounts.

Launched on 16 July 2025, this service enables bulk salary transfers at no additional cost, offering employers a simple and efficient alternative to traditional bank-based payroll systems.

The feature is made possible through integration with the DuitNow Bulk Payment system. Each TNG eWallet user is assigned a DuitNow account number, which functions similarly to a bank account.

This makes the solution compliant with employment regulations under Jabatan Tenaga Kerja Semenanjung Malaysia, enabling employers to process salaries for both banked and unbanked workers with ease.

Enhancing payroll efficiency for Malaysian businesses

The collaboration is particularly beneficial for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and employers of foreign or underserved workers who may not have access to a traditional bank account.

By using Kakitangan.com’s payroll platform, employers can automate monthly disbursements without needing to manually collect employee bank details or deal with separate transfers.

This initiative not only reduces administrative workload but also supports better cash flow management. Workers, on the other hand, gain instant access to their salaries through the TNG eWallet platform, enhancing convenience and financial inclusion.

Key features of the salary payment solution

The new payroll system includes several useful features for employers and employees:

  • Instant salary disbursement into TNG eWallet
  • Each eWallet functions like a bank account via a DuitNow number
  • Access to ATM cash withdrawals using a Visa-linked TNG card
  • Cross-border money remittance to over 50 countries
  • QR-based payments at merchants using DuitNow QR

TNG Digital reports that over two million foreign workers in Malaysia are already active TNG eWallet users. This growing adoption reflects the platform’s expanding role in everyday financial transactions and digital payroll solutions.

Supporting digital inclusion and financial access

TNG Digital CEO Alan Ni highlighted that this initiative helps bridge the financial gap for unbanked workers, enabling greater dignity, convenience, and access to financial services.

Meanwhile, Kakitangan.com’s director Effon Khoo emphasized the benefit for SMEs looking to simplify payroll processes while staying compliant with employment laws.

With a focus on financial empowerment and HR efficiency, this collaboration signals a shift toward more inclusive and digitally-driven payroll practices in Malaysia.

Would you switch your business payroll to a digital system if it meant lower costs and better access for your workers? With this new solution from TNG Digital and Kakitangan.com, companies in Malaysia now have a modern, bank-free alternative to streamline salary payments.
