While it isn't what mostly everyone was hoping for when Nokia teased something BIG was going to be revealed, the Nokia Lumia 625 got officially launched recently. It is the first Nokia Lumia phone to go beyond a 4.5-inch screen, instead offering a 4.7-inch screen. Boasting 4G LTE support with a 4.7-inch IPS screen using an 800 x 480 pixel resolution the new phone falls into the between entry-level and midrange with a price around RM924. Other Nokia Lumia 625 tech specs include:

  • 1.2GHz dual-core Snapdragon S4 chipset
  • Adreno 305 GPU
  • 512MB RAM
  • 8GB storage + microSD (up to 64GB)
  • 4.7-inch display (800x480, IPS, Gorilla Glass 2)
  • 5MP rear camera (autofocus, LED flash) + VGA front camera
  • 2000 mAh battery
  • Supports FM radio + A-GPS + LTE 800/1800/2600

While the overall look and feel of the phone reminds us of an oversized Nokia Asha 501, complete with multi-coloured snap-on backplates, it does look like a solid Nokia Lumia phone. In addition to all of the above Nokia are bundling in the updated Nokia Smart Camera App, a better HERE Maps and black, bright green, orange, yellow and white backplates to choose from. No exact details when it will be available in Malaysia but everything points to Q3 of 2013. Check out the Nokia site for more information.
