The Nokia Lumia 1020 has been officially announced. After so many, many leaked images and sample shots, we finally get some official tech specs for what seems to be one of the most powerful cameraphones around. The Nokia Lumia 1020 specs include:
- 1.5Ghz dual-core Snapdragon S4 processor
- 2GB RAM
- 32GB storage
- 4.5-inch ClearBlack PureMotion HD+ AMOLED display (Gorilla 3 Glass, 1280 x 768)
- 2000 mAh battery
- Supports wireless charging with snap-on cover
- 41MP rear camera (BSI Sensor, 2nd gen OIS, 6-lens ZEISS optics, Xenon flash, LED flash) + 1.2MP front camera (wide angle)

The Nokia Lumia 1020 with snap-on camera grip
The smartphone formerly known as the Nokia EOS probably has the most technologically superior camera around. This includes low light imaging, magnetically-driven motors and ball bearings in the 2nd Gen OIS and the ability to capture 34MP / 38MP images with 5MP oversampling which Nokia calls dual capture. In essence it means that you can zoom in and refocus after you've taken the shot, much like the Lytro camera so you can snap away and not really worry about how it looks at the moment. Dual microphones ensure video audio is just as awesome.

Nokia Lumia 1020 Sample shots
While the camera hump dominates the back of the Lumia 1020, the smartphone isn't that large actually, and is just a little larger than your average Lumia phone. Released with a slew of accessories including a camera grip casing, this is probably the ultimate point-and-shoot camera around. The Lumia 1020 will be available in yellow, black and white but will only be released later this month. Unfortunately, there wasn't any specific pricing or release date details for Malaysia just yet.
