If you've been following the news on 5G in Malaysia, you're probably aware of the big players involved. Currently, Ericsson is the only company providing the core network infrastructure for implementing 5G in our country. But it seems like Nokia also wants to be involved this year.

Nokia Managing Director (Malaysia, Maldives, and Sri Lanka) Datuk Mohd Rauf Nasir revealed that his company wants to help with expediting 5G implementation in Malaysia. According to Bernama, the company is offering an end-to-end solution that includes the base stations, radio access network (RAN), and network infrastructure for fully operational 5G networks.

Mohd Rauf pointed out that a wider 5G network implementation would help with critical infrastructure for consumer services and the digitalisation of businesses. Both are important for the country and would help attract more investors. The way we see it, having more companies involved with 5G implementation will indeed be good for our country. Of course, it also means our government will have to spend more to speed up the 5G rollout.

What do you think, is 5G important enough for our government to speed up its implementation? Share your thoughts in the comments, and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
