True enough, the Nothing Ear (open) looks exactly like yesterday's leaks online. It's the company's first-ever open wearable stereo (OWS) earbuds and will be exclusively launched at Crossover's official online store on 28 September 2024 for RM659.
The Ear (open) offers Nothing’s Open Sound Technology, which creates a more immersive audio experience while maintaining users' awareness of their surroundings. They are engineered with a Sound Seal System and directional speakers to minimise sound leakage. Although they look a bit bulky at first glance, each earbud weighs only 8.1g and with a case measuring only 19mm, marking it one of the slimmest OWS devices.
In terms of sound quality, the Ear (open) driver components are nearly 30% lighter than typical earbuds. As OWS devices, Nothing integrated an automatic Bass Enhance algorithm to optimize low frequencies for a richer bass experience. They also have eight hours of playback on a single charge and up to 30 hours with the charging case. A 10-minute quick charge provides two hours of listening time.
In addition, Nothing also integrated a built-in Clear Voice Technology with AI-enhanced processing for clear calls in a noisy environment. Dual Connection enables seamless switching between devices, while Low Lag Mode ensures an optimized gaming experience with minimal audio delay. Finally, ChatGPT is also available on the Ear (open) via the Nothing X app.
As aforementioned, the Nothing Ear (open) will first launch on Crossover's online store. Interested customers can also visit Nothing’s Shopee Official Store and Lazada Flagship store starting from the 1st and 5th of October 2024, respectively. General sales will begin on 14 October 2024, across all channels.
