If you happen to scroll your Twitter X feed and follow Nothing, you will see a nice early Christmas present from the brand. Particularly for the Nothing Phone (1) users, it has been announced that the Nothing OS 2.5 Open Beta 1 is now live.
It was only early this year when the Nothing OS 1.5.3 rolled out for Nothing Phone (1) users so this is a nice treat. In the Nothing Community forum, it's noted that the Nothing OS 2.5 is based on Android 14 out of the box with a few new features. It has the same new features for Nothing Phone (2) users, such as a redesigned joint Home Screen and Lock Screen customisation page, a new atmosphere wallpaper effect and more.
Besides that, the power button now has a customisable double-press function. There are more lock screen shortcut options too (do not disturb, mute, etc) as well as a bunch of new widgets which are - Pedometer, Media Player and Screen Time Widgets. Additionally, there are other minor improvements and you can read all of them right over here.
To join the beta test, you can visit the link above above and follow the steps written there. Of course, since this is a beta test, expect some bugs and other minor inconveniences. Meanwhile, Nothing OS 2.5 is already rolling out for the Nothing Phone (2) as we speak.
