Nothing Phone (1) Malaysia release: Snapdragon 778G+ & 50MP + 50MP dual rear cams, starting price at RM2399

In case you missed it late last night, the Nothing Phone (1) has finally been unveiled. If you thought there wasn't any pricing for the Malaysian market, turned out that there is and the price starts from RM2399. For the complete breakdown of the tech specs and features, read below.

For starters, the exterior of the Nothing Phone (1) is a 6.55-inch OLED display protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The display supports an adaptive refresh rate from 60Hz to 120Hz, a 240Hz touch sampling rate and haptic touch motors too. Besides that, it also supports HDR10+, 10-bit colour depth and 500 nits brightness.

Meanwhile, the 16MP front camera is sitting on the top left of the display whereas the 50MP (main) + 50MP (ultrawide) dual rear camera sits comfortably behind. Like most smartphones, it has a couple of camera modes but the most notable ones are the Extreme Night Mode, Night Video, Export Mode and Slo-Mo up to 120fps. The main camera can also record at 4K resolution at 30fps and supports OIS and EIS.

Inside the hood, the Nothing Phone (1) sports a 4500mAh battery with a 33W PD3.0 fast charging and 15W Qi-wireless charging technology. This phone sits in the mid-range category with a Snapdragon 778G+ chipset and it's nice to know that there's IP53 water and dust resistance rating. You can also expect a 5G connection support, as well as a face and finger unlock security function.

The Nothing Phone (1) is on sale with two memory configurations - 8GB + 256GB and 12GB + 256GB for the price of RM2399 and RM2699 respectively. There's also an 8GB + 128GB variant listed but no price is mentioned. Perhaps at a later date? Oh well, we shall wait and see.
