Nothing Phone (1) now shows Apple AirPods battery percentage after latest OS update

Previously, Nothing said that its first smartphone, the Nothing Phone (1) will be able to show the battery percentage of the Apple AirPods lineup with its next update. True to its words, the company has recently released the Nothing OS 1.1.7 update for the Android smartphone and lo and behold, the device now has extra functionality when paired with the AirPods.

The update, firmware version S1.1.-221121-2306 is now available for download on the Phone (1) and is around 79MB in size. After the update, you can enable the feature by going the ‘Experimental Features’ in the Settings menu. 

Of course, the update is not solely for enabling this extra AirPods feature as it also fixes several bugs, provide the November security patch as well as improve Nothing OS’ smoothness. Accordingly, here are the change log for the update:

● Improved OS fluidity and reduced stutters
● Adjusted the thermal threshold to better balance performance and temperature
● Improved audio quality when recording videos
● More accurate battery status

● General bug fixes

If you’re using the Phone (1), you can prompt for the OTA update by going to Settings, select System and then System updates. Users can manually check for the update and download it from that Settings menu.
