Nothing Phone (2) confirmed launching "later this year" in the US first

It was inevitable that the Nothing Phone (2) would be announced but we didn't expect it to be this early. Recently, Inverse held an interview with Carl Pei, Nothing CEO on what we can expect on the next flagship.

In the interview, Pei told Inverse that the Nothing Phone (2) is going to be "more premium" and the company will focus its launch in the US as the top priority this year. Previously, the Nothing Phone (1) was not launched in the US due to collaboration with telco carriers on certification as well as adapting some of their features. Nothing didn't have the resources then but now, it's possible.

While Pei didn't confirm the launching date, the Nothing Phone (2) won't be ready until "later this year". On top of that, he also said that he was fed up with new phones launching every two months without much software support, which Nothing will focus a lot on the Phone (2). When asked if we could expect specs like the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset, Pei didn't really say yes or no.

We think there's a good chance that the Nothing Phone (2) could be released in the second half of 2023. Back in 2022, the Nothing Phone (1) was released in Malaysia in mid-July. Well, there's still a long way to go and we just have to wait and see. Stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
