In Nothing's first community update of 2024 (although more like about Q4 2023), the company officially confirmed the existence of the Nothing Phone (2a). It was announced by Akis in the Nothing Community Update, telling us what to expect.
Previously, Nothing posted a pixelated Aerodactyl Pokemon giving a big hint and it was indeed a codename for its upcoming Nothing Phone. According to Akis, the Nothing (2a) is for users who are more "focused on the core smartphone functionalities" as well as Nothing's both hardware and software experience, such as the Nothing OS instead of tech specs.
Nothing will focus and "double down on the core of the users' needs". This includes from performance to camera while leveraging some of the loved features of the Phone (2). Akis couldn't give us more information as expected, but overall, the Phone (2a) needs a clear upgrade compared to the Phone (1).
The Nothing (2a) will indeed come to Malaysia at some point in the future, so we just have to wait and see. Until then, sit tight and you can check out the rest of the Nothing Community Update video above.
