The Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro launched in early March, offering a mid-range series with incredible value. But many are waiting for Nothing's next flagship device, which some expected to launch at the end of last year. Now, we have a definitive launch window.

When asked about the Nothing Phone (3) in a recent Ask Me Anything (AMA) session, Carl Pei confirmed a launch would happen in Q3 2025. In other words, the device could launch as early as July 2025, less than 3 months away. The Nothing CEO also said the company takes 9 to 18 months to develop a product, from initial idea to production. As such, it would mean the Nothing Phone (3) has been in development since mid-2024, at the latest.

Besides news of the next flagship's launch window, there were a few more relevant replies from Pei. He announced that his company will focus on "slow and stay improvements" in 2025 and look into increasing exports to India. He also said most AI applications on smartphones are "BS". The last part is interesting since it shows his dislike for current smartphone AI implementations.

With the Nothing Phone (3a) series, Nothing decided to forgo currently trending AI features like AI photography. Instead, the two mid-range devices have a new Essential Space feature and an Essential Key button. The Essential Space offers users a dedicated 'space' to save various information (like screenshots or voice notes), which are then categorised or organised by AI. You can read what we thought about Essential Space in our Nothing Phone (3a) Pro review.
