Nothing has officially confirmed that the Phone 3 will feature a redesigned lighting system called the Glyph Matrix, replacing the earlier Glyph Interface. The announcement was made via a teaser video published on 19 June 2025.
The phone is expected to launch globally on 1 July 2025, with a projected price of around EUR 800, which is approximately RM4080.
Glyph Matrix: A new direction for Nothing’s design language
The teaser shows a compact dot matrix-style LED panel located at the top right of the device’s rear panel. This new Glyph Matrix appears to be a significant shift from the full-width Glyph strips used in previous models.
Nothing describes it as a way for “light to become language,” suggesting that the lights will display more detailed, dynamic animations for notifications, charging status, and possibly app interactions.
This announcement also clarifies earlier speculation from leaked images that showed no visible Glyph lighting. Those images likely depicted a separate device, possibly the Nothing Phone 3a, rather than the full-fledged flagship model.
