Today, the Nothing Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro have been released in Malaysia. There will only be one memory variant for each model (12GB + 256GB), which starts at RM1,699. Below are the official tech specs and features.
In terms of tech specs, both the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro have the same 6.77-inch AMOLED displays. At Full HD+ resolution, the displays support a 120Hz refresh rate and 480Hz touch sampling rate, up to 1,300 and 3,000 nits peak brightness, respectively, as well as Ultra HDR. At the same time, both phones also have the same 50MP primary cameras.
As for the other sensors, the Phone (3a) uses a 50MP telephoto lens, while the pro variant has a 50MP periscope lens. There isn't much difference, but the former has an optical lens of 2x and up to 4x lossless in-sensor zoom. On the other hand, the Phone (3a) Pro's periscope is a large 1/1.95-inch Sony LYTIA 600 sensor with a 70mm equivalent focal length and a f/2.55 aperture, capable of 3x optical zoom and lossless in-sensor zoom up to 6x.
Other two features that are shared by both phones are the 5,000 mAh battery pack with 50W fast charging technology and the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 chipset. According to Nothing, the Phone (3a) Series can maintain over 90% maximum capacity after 1,200 charging cycles, which is around three years and four months of daily charging. Finally, they run on Nothing OS 3.1, which is built on Android 15.
Pre-orders for the Phone (3a) and Phone (3a) Pro start from 8 March. The first sales launch is different, though. The Phone (3a) will start earlier on 22 March, while the latter will come on 7 April 2025.
