This week, Nothing has teased the Ear (3), which officially returned to a numbered naming system, following its predecessor that dropped the name scheme. Not only that, we also got a confirmation on the launch date.
The Number 3
According to a post on the Nothing Community platform, this decision was driven by user feedback—many preferred simple numerical naming instead of last year’s confusing scheme. Andrew Freshwater, Nothing’s Head of Global Smart Products Marketing, explained:
“We listened to feedback… it was important for users to return to the straightforward numerical order we had attributed to Ear (1) and Ear (2).”
What Can We Expect?
While details remain under wraps, industry observers speculate the Ear (3) could bring thoughtful upgrades, potentially including:
- A refreshed transparent design with a metallic-accented stem and black silicone tips
- Enhanced touch controls, thanks to a newly indented stem detail
- Stronger Active Noise Cancellation (ANC) and improved transparency mode
- Possibly KEF-tuned audio, following Nothing’s collaboration on previous headphone models
Mark Your Calendar for 18 September 2025
Nothing’s X (formerly Twitter) account shared the launch date, this time showing the overlaid branding “Ear (3)” on the stem—complete with a transparent aesthetic and possibly a new indented touch control area.
The Nothing Ear series has received a favourable reception from the fans over the years. We can't wait to see the Ear (3) next week, so until then, stay tuned for our official news coverage only at TechNave.com.
