Nothing may soon expand its smartphone lineup with more affordable “Lite” or “T” variants, aiming to attract budget-conscious consumers.
These models are expected to be priced lower than the recently launched Phone 3a series, which starts from around RM1770.
Nothing explores deeper budget segment
Following the launch of the Phone 3, 3a, and 3a Pro in early July 2025, Nothing is reportedly working on new models that cater to an even lower price tier.
According to industry tipster Yogesh Brar, the company is considering “Lite” or “T” branding for these upcoming devices—similar to what brands like Xiaomi and OnePlus have done to offer streamlined versions of their flagship models.
This move signals a shift in strategy, as Nothing appears to be moving away from “Pro” models and instead focusing on delivering more accessible options for users who want the Nothing experience at a lower cost.
Why this matters
- Wider market reach: Introducing Lite or T variants could help Nothing appeal to emerging markets such as Malaysia, India, and Southeast Asia.
- Proven branding approach: The “Lite” and “T” naming convention is already familiar to users and typically signifies trimmed-down, affordable alternatives to flagship models.
- Builds on Phone 3a momentum: The Phone 3a and 3a Pro received positive attention for offering a clean design, solid hardware, and fast charging at competitive pricing.
What to expect
So far, no official details have been confirmed regarding the specs, features, or release dates of these Lite or T models. However, based on Nothing’s existing approach, it is possible that these devices may:
- Use less powerful chipsets than the Snapdragon 7s Gen 3 seen in the Phone 3a series
- Feature simplified camera systems or reduced display specifications
- Omit the full Glyph interface to cut costs while retaining the signature design language
If the pricing lands under RM1400, these models could compete directly with entry-level offerings from brands like Redmi, Infinix, and realme.
