Twitter has finally rolled out the Hide Tweet feature to every user around the world today after months of testing in Canada. If users found any responses that are irrelevant or inappropriate to the original post on Twitter, they can now hide it rather than deleting it permanently.

To hide irrelevant replies on your post, users can tap the menu icon on the top right of a reply and click on “Hide Tweet”. The hidden tweet is not permanently deleted as users still can see the responses by tapping on the grey icon that appears on it. The feature is now available on the web and also both main and Twitter lite mobile apps.

As critics argue that the feature would be a tool to hide dissenting voices for users. But Twitter mentioned it will allow users to gain “more control” over their posts and will prevent it from becoming a proxy for censorship.

With that said, the new feature may increase the prevention on cyber bully as well. So what do you think about the new feature? Let us know at our Facebook page and stay tuned for more updates on TechNave.com!
