Nubia has presented the Red Magic 6R today as its latest gaming smartphone. The new device looks toned-down after some of the gaming aesthetics from the brand's previous gaming offerings have been removed. Therefore, it could be the first choice for those who want a gaming smartphone but don't like an exaggerating design.

It is worth mentioning that the Red Magic 6R is not a huge upgrade over the previous Red Magic 6 and 6 Pro. The device maintains the Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 processor paired with either 8GB or 12GB of RAM. For the display, it uses a 6.67-inch AMOLED panel with a 144Hz refresh rate support. There's also a 4,200mAh battery that charges up to 55W in China but only 30W for the global model.

For photography, it brings a quad-camera module that consists of a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultrawide camera, a 5MP macro shooter and a 2MP depth snapper. On the front, it uses a 16MP sensor for selfies and video calls through the centered punch-hole cutout. Besides that, the device also features shoulder triggers which are touch sensors as it's still a gaming phone after all.

The device is offered in China for the price of 2,999 Yuan (~RM1,946) for the 8GB RAM variant and 3,999 Yuan (~RM2,595) for the 12GB RAM variant. It will be available in three colours and one limited edition skin that is developed jointly with Tencent Games. For local availability, it is still unknown for now but we will let you know as soon as we receive any latest news.
