Nubia has launched the Nubia Z50 in China, its latest flagship smartphone with very competitive pricing for the specs. One of the highlights of the device is its processor, which is the latest and greatest from Qualcomm, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2.
According to the official Nubia Weibo account, the SoC is paired with either 8, 12 or 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and up to 1TB of UFS 4.0 storage. Under the hood, there’s also a 5000mAh battery that supports 80W wired charging and a VC cooling system to help with thermals.
As for the display, the Z50 sports a 6.67-inch curved 144Hz AMOLED display with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels. The screen supports 10-bit colour depth, 100 per cent DCI-P3 colour gamut, 3 million to 1 contrast ratio and up to 1000 peak brightness.
Moving to the cameras, at the rear of the phone is a 64MP main (Sony IMX787) + 50MP ultra-wide (Samsung S5KJN1) dual-camera setup with OIS, a ring LED light and a multi-channel spectral sensor. As for the front, there’s a 16MP OV16A1Q camera powered by Nubia’s NeoVision imaging algorithm.
Other notable specs include Android 13 via MyOS 13, a metal frame with glass front and back, dual stereo speakers as well as colour options of black, white and green leather. As of the time of writing, Nubia has yet to reveal whether the Z50 will be available in regions outside of China. However, based on previous Nubia flagship releases, it is unlikely that it will be sold officially outside of the country.
