For those who don't remember, the OPPO A3x launched in Malaysia last month. It offers a highly affordable entry-level smartphone for casual users but is just a bit underpowered for people with more intensive needs. Thus, the OPPO A3 is now out as a follow-up.
Earlier today, OPPO Malaysia announced the new variant on its website. Design-wise, the OPPO A3 is identical to the OPPO A3x, so we won't discuss that. Instead, let's talk about what's different with the hardware specs. First, it has more RAM and storage. The OPPO A3x comes in three variants, with the best one sporting 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. However, the OPPO A3 has 8GB of RAM, plus a choice of 128GB or 256GB of storage.
Next, the OPPO A3 has a better camera sensor with 50 megapixels. This means you can capture better photos with more detail. On top of that, the OPPO A3's camera app also supports more features. For instance, it supports slow-motion video mode at 720P@120fps and dual-view video mode at 720P@30fps. Nothing too fancy, but enough changes to differentiate the OPPO A3 from the OPPO A3x.
However, prices for the OPPO A3 are RM699 for the variant with 128GB storage and RM799 for the one with 256GB storage. Do the changes justify the price increase? Tell us your thoughts in the comments on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
