OPPO A58x 5G release: Dimensity 700 SoC, 90Hz LCD and 5000mAh battery from ~RM760

OPPO has recently released the OPPO A58x 5G in China, its latest offering in the affordable smartphone segment.  Featuring the MediaTek Dimensity 700 processor under the hood, the device also sports either 6 or 8GB of LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB of UFS 2.2 storage.

Like other OPPO smartphones, the device also has the ability to virtually expand the RAM by utilising available storage, with the A58x 5G able to add up to 5GB of virtual RAM. Powering the smartphone is a 5000mAh battery with support for 10W charging.

As for its screen, the device has a 6.56-inch 90Hz LCD display with a resolution of 720 x 1612 pixels. The panel supports up to 600 nits of brightness, 90Hz touch sampling rate and Panda Glass protection. 

The display’s water drop notch houses an 8MP front-facing camera while at its rear, there’s a 13MP main + 2MP portrait dual-camera setup with LED flash. Other notable specs include USB-C, 5G connectivity, Bluetooth 5.3, a 3.5mm audio jack, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a microSD card slot, dual SIM and colour options of Breeze Purple, Tranquil Blue and Star Black.

In China, the A58x 5G is priced at CNY1200 or ~RM760 for the 6/128GB variant, with the pricing for the 8/128GB not yet revealed by OPPO. Besides that, the company also hasn’t revealed whether the smartphone will be sold outside of China.
