OPPO has quietly listed two new smartphones, though only one has an official release date and market. The OPPO A5i was listed on its global website, while the OPPO A5i Pro will be available in the Philippines on 20 June, so read on to learn more.
OPPO A5i
First up, the A5i is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 SoC, meaning that it only supports up to LTE connectivity. The processor is paired with 4/6GB RAM and 64/128GB storage, while the battery is a 5100mAh cell, which supports 45W SUPERVOOC charging via the USB-C port.
Screen-wise, it’s a 6.67-inch 90Hz LCD with up to 1000 nits peak brightness, HD+ resolution and a centre punch-hole cutout housing the 5MP selfie shooter. At the rear, the main camera is an 8MP shooter paired with an undisclosed secondary camera.
Other notable specs include dual SIM, Bluetooth 5.0, ColorOS 14, an IP54 rating, wet touch support, a side-mounted fingerprint scanner, a 3.5mm audio jack and colour options of either Nebula Red or Starry Purple. No launch date, availability or price have been revealed just yet for the A5i.
OPPO A5i Pro
Meanwhile, the A5i Pro is available for purchase in the Philippines on 20 June through Lazada, priced from PHP9000 or ~RM682. It shares almost identical specs with the vanilla variant, with slight upgrades here and there.
The A5i Pro has a bigger battery at 6000mAh with the same 45W charging, a better main camera at 50MP, a higher-clocked Snapdragon 6s 4G Gen 1 SoC, 8/12GB RAM and 128GB storage. Furthermore, the Pro variant doesn’t have a 3.5mm audio jack but gains an IR blaster and NFC, with the colour options being only Midnight Purple.
