According to GizmoChina, OPPO has launched the A6i in China on 9 September 2025, with prices starting at 899 yuan (~RM540) for the 6GB + 128GB version. So, what should you know about it?
What's news?
The OPPO A6i is built as a tough, entry-level 5G smartphone. It carries a 6.56-inch LCD display with a 120 Hz refresh rate, designed to remain responsive even when wet or used with gloves. Powering the device is the MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset, paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM and storage options of 128GB or 256GB using UFS 2.2.
On the software side, it runs on ColorOS 15 based on Android 15. OPPO claims up to 48 months of smooth performance along with practical AI features, including handwriting recognition, math correction, and family tools such as health tracking and scam alerts.
For photography, the A6i comes with a 50MP main camera and a 2MP depth sensor. The AI-powered camera system supports portrait mode, dual-view video, object removal, zoom enhancement, and even creative sticker overlays. An 8MP selfie camera is placed at the front.
Moreover, a 6000mAh battery powers the device, backed by electrolyte recovery technology and a graphite cell design for longer life. Charging is handled by 45 W SuperVOOC, which can hit 50 percent in about 37 minutes, even in temperatures as low as –20 °C. OPPO states the phone can deliver up to 22 hours of calls or 19 hours of video playback on a single charge.
Pricing for China starts at 899 yuan (~RM540) for the 6GB + 128GB model, 999 yuan (~RM600) for the 8GB + 128GB, and 1099 yuan (~RM660) for the 8GB + 256GB. Sales begin on 12 September 2025.
