The OPPO Find X7 series is set to become the world’s first smartphone series to support the new 5G-Advanced or 5.5G network. For reference, the network’s commercial launch was announced by China Mobile today in the country.
As reported by GSMArena, following the network announcement, OPPO Chief Product Officer Pete Lau teased the Find X7 series’ support for 5.5G. Taking to Weibo, he posted a photo of the Find X7 Ultra with “5GA” on the status bar.
Moreover, another post on Weibo also confirmed that the vanilla Find X7 will also get support for 5.5G. Besides the Find X7 series, other smartphone series are expected to support the cutting-edge new network too, with 20 devices touted in a year’s time.
China Mobile plans to roll out 5.5G to cover over 300 cities by the end of 2024.
