As Google continues to develop Gemini, it was announced at the Google Cloud Next 24 event that Gemini Ultra 1.0 is going to be integrated into OPPO and OnePlus phones later this year. To the uninitiated, Gemini Ultra 1.0 was revealed earlier in 2024 as a state-of-the-art AI LLM-empowering Gemini Advanced chatbot.

Designed to handle "highly complex tasks", Gemini Ultra 1.0 may have a big impact on OPPO and OnePlus phones just like Samsung's Galaxy AI on the Galaxy S24 series. There are no details of which phone models will get it but OPPO is confident that the feature will "completely change the way users interact" with their devices.

To quote Nicole Zhang, General Manager of AI Product for OPPO and OnePlus, she mentioned the four key pillars that will drive the use of AI on phones. She said, "It must utilize resources effectively, possess self-learning capabilities, perceive the real world, and bring creativity to its users."

At the moment, OPPO has a customised AndesGPT AI on its phones. One feature it has is an AI Eraser that we are familiar with on the Galaxy S24 series and the Magic Eraser on the Google Pixel. This year will be an era of AI features where brands will take advantage of it and we can't wait to see them all.
