The next OPPO tablet isn't due before October 2025. However, a leak has already provided some early details on this upcoming device. A successor to the OPPO Pad 3 launched last year, the OPPO Pad 5 is an upper mid-range tablet for general use. Below are some specs that were leaked online.
Minor upgrades
According to Digital Chat Station, the OPPO Pad 5 will have a 12.1-inch LCD screen with 3K resolution and a 144Hz refresh rate. It's slightly larger than its predecessor, but it isn't a significant improvement. The big upgrade is the Dimensity 9400+ chipset, which is definitely better than the OPPO Pad 3's Dimensity 8350. Based on existing benchmark scores of the two chipsets, expect the OPPO Pad 5 to have over 10% improvement in CPU and GPU performance.
Additionally, the RAM and storage will also get upgrades. Where the OPPO Pad 3 only had 8GB of RAM and up to 256GB of storage, the OPPO Pad 5 will have variants with 12GB and 16GB RAM, plus up to 512GB of storage. The new model will also have a 10300mAh battery, an 8MP main camera, and 67W fast charging. Mostly similar to the previous model, but it does have a larger battery and a heavier weight (likely because of the battery).
Could be a skip
If you already have the OPPO Pad 3 or OPPO Pad 3 Pro, the OPPO Pad 5 won't offer any significant upgrades. However, it could be an option to consider if you don't have a tablet or are upgrading from a much older one.
