The infamous baby shark phones famous for their interesting pop up camera mechanism has been launched worldwide - specifically the OPPO Reno, OPPO Reno 10x zoom and OPPO Reno 5G.

These devices were launched in China recently with the standard edition of the OPPO Reno already on sale there. If you aren’t up to speed, the OPPO Reno 10x zoom comes with a periscope-like camera sensor and a weird triangular pop up camera. The mechanism is built in such a way to house not only the front facing selfie camera but also the earpiece and other sensors. The pop up mechanism is able to withstand 200000 cycles.

You’ll get a true infinity display on this device with the Reno 10x zoom measuring at 6.6 inches and the standard Reno at 6.4 inches. Both devices come with an OLED display. As for the camera, the devices comes with a 16MP selfie camera and on the back. Also available on both devices are the VOOC 3.0 charging, and an in-display fingerprint reader. And that is where the similarities for both devices end.

The OPPO Reno 10x zoom is the highest spec variant between the two with tech specs that include the Snapdragon 855, 8GB RAM + 256GB internal storage and a 4065mAh battery capacity. Camera wise, you’ll find a triple rear camera setup for this device with 48MP + 13MP (telephoto) + 8MP (ultra-wide) sensors. The telephoto camera comes with 6x optical zoom and 10x hybrid zoom. All the sensors are equipped with OIS and the device also comes with a dual-frequency GPS and Audio Focus (some microphones to keep video and audio in sync users utilize the zoom).

As for the standard OPPO Reno, it features a dual rear camera setup with no periscope zoom and ultra-wide lenses. It still retains its 48MP sensor (no OIS) and 5MP (depth) sensor. For its tech specs, you’ll find it quite a step down from the 10x zoom with a Snapdragon 710 chipset, 6GB RAM + 128GB internal storage or 8GB + 256GB internal storage. However, this variant of the Reno comes with a 3.5mm headphone jack.

Tech specs for the OPPO Reno 5G is similar to the OPPO Reno 10x zoom and has partnered with multiple telco companies around the globe for launch. It is expected that this device will be the first 5G device to arrive in Europe since Swisscom had launched their 5G network just two weeks ago and EE will be putting their 5G technology to the test in the UK late June.

You’ll find the OPPO Reno out in France, The Netherlands, Italy, Spain and Poland on the 10th of May with prices starting from 500 Euros (~RM2310). As for the OPPO Reno 5G, it will be priced at 900 Euros (~RM4158) and will be launching in May as well. In early June, you’ll find the OPPO Reno 10x zoom hitting shelves early June with an 800 Euro (~RM3686) price tag. Only the OPPO Reno 10x zoom and Reno 5G comes with an International Warranty.
