It was only a matter of time. OPPO Malaysia has announced the arrival of the OPPO Reno12 F 5G in Malaysia. This phone is a new addition to the Reno12 Series and is completely new here, with a starting price of RM1,399. Here's what you need to know about the phone.
For starters, the Reno12 F 5G looks different from the Reno12 Series with a new Cosmos Ring Design featuring a triple-rear camera setup (50MP primary camera + 2MP Macro + 8MP ultrawide and an LED flashlight). It has a Halo Light function that lets you customise lighting effects for different scenarios. These include a subtle notification system for charging, calling, and messages, alerting users with minimal interruption.
On the front, the Reno12 F 5G sports a 6.67-inch 120Hz Flat OLED display with up to 2,100 nits peak brightness and a 32MP sensor as a punch-hole front camera. As beautiful as it looks in Amber Orange and Olive Green, the phone has an IP64 water and dust resistance rating and is certified for 5 Stars in SGS Performance Multi-Scene Protection Testing.
The Reno12 F 5G is powered by a MediaTek Dimensity 6300 chipset and is available in two memory configurations - 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB. Users can add more RAM up to 12GB of additional virtual RAM, and make use of its standard 5000mAh battery pack with 45W SUPERVOOC Flash Charge technology. OPPO said the phone can be fully charged within 71 minutes.
In terms of AI functions, OPPO integrated AI Eraser 2.0 for users to remove unwanted passers-by from photos with just a tap. There's also AI Smart Image Matting 2.0, now updated with enhanced accuracy, allowing for multi-subject cutouts that can be saved as standalone stickers for future use. Users can also check out AI Studio to transform regular portraits into unique digital avatars.
Besides AI Photography, there's also AI Productivity with the likes of AI Recording Summary, which can process voice recordings and extract key information into easy-to-read summaries. Additionally, AI Toolbox has AI Writer for writing quick emails, social media posts and comments, AI Summary for extracting essential details from long passages of text, and AI Speak for reading articles aloud.
Available across the nation from 12 July 2024 onwards, the 12GB + 256GB and 12GB + 512GB models are priced at the recommended retail price of RM1,399 and RM1,799, respectively.
