The OPPO Reno5 series has finally arrived in Malaysia today with the vanilla Reno5 5G and Reno5 Pro 5G. Both devices will go on sale starting from 27 January with the pre-order goes live from 13 to 26 January. For the price, the Reno5 5G is at RM1,899 while the Pro variant goes for RM2,599.
The OPPO Reno5 5G is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G paired with 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. It also features a 6.4-inch AMOLED display that supports a 90Hz refresh rate and up to 180Hz touch sampling rate. Under the hood, there is a 4300mAh battery that supports a 65W SuperVOOC2.0 Flash Charge. It is claimed that the device can be fully charged in just 35 minutes.
On the other hand, the Pro variant is powered by a different chipset that is the MediaTek Dimensity 1000+. It is paired with 12GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. For display, it's a tiny bit larger than the standard variant with a 6.5-inch 3D curved Super AMOLED panel. The device also comes with a 4350mAh battery that supports the same fast charge technology as the Reno5 5G.
For photography, the OPPO Reno5 series is equipped with a quad-camera setup consisting of a 64MP main sensor, an 8MP ultra-wide-angle lens, a 2MP macro lens, and a 2MP mono lens. On the front, the devices both have a 32MP camera housed in a punch-hole cutout. Furthermore, they will also be running ColorOS 11.1 based on Android 11 out of the box and have two colour options - Galactic Silver and Starry Black.
Customers who pre-order the Reno5 series will receive additional free gifts worth RM397, which includes an OPPO Enco W11 worth RM159, 1x OPPO phone case worth RM129, and a complimentary 1 year extended warranty worth RM109. Those who pre-order two units with a friend can also receive a limited set of BFF friendship phone cases plus an RM100 rebate on their purchase at any OPPO Sales & Service Center. At the centers, the first 100 customers will be entitled to a mystery gift worth up to RM150,000 as well.
