After being in the rumour mills for a while, OPPO Malaysia today unveiled the OPPO Reno8 T series in our country. The latest mid-range offering by the company, the series is offered in two variants - Reno8 T 5G and Reno8 T 4G.
First up, the Reno8 T 5G sports a 6.7-inch 120Hz 3D curved display with an FHD+ resolution, 120Hz touch sampling rate and 1000Hz instantaneous sampling rate in certain game scenarios. The panel is a 1 Billion Colour Display with a 93 per cent screen-to-body ratio and a 2.32mm lower bezel for better immersion when viewing content.
Under the hood, the Reno8 T 5G is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 695 5G SoC paired with 8GB of RAM and 256GB of storage. The RAM can also be virtually expanded by up to 8GB using OPPO’s RAM Expansion function while the storage can be supplemented by up to 1TB using the microSD card slot.
As for the battery, the device is equipped with a 4800mAh cell that supports 67W SUPERVOOC charging. OPPO claims that a full charge could last up to 389 hours of standby and fully charging the device from 0 per cent takes 44 minutes.
Moving to cameras, the Reno8 T 5G sports a 108MP main + 2MP depth dual-camera setup at its rear and a 32MP selfie camera at its front. The 108MP Portrait Camera has a 40x Microlens feature and can also utilise NonaPixel Plus binning technology paired with OPPO’s AI Portrait Super Resolution algorithm. Dubbed the “Portrait Expert”, both the 5G and 4G versions feature Selfie HDR, Bokeh Flare Portrait and more.
Other notable specs include ColorOS 13, 5-Grade Access Control and Auto Pixelate for privacy, a twice-strengthened tempered DT-Star2 protective glass on the front screen, 3D back cover and OPPO Glow design with colour options of Sunrise Gold and Midnight Black.
Moving toward the Reno8 T 4G, it shares most of the features of its 5G sibling but sports a 5000mAh battery which supports 33W SUPERVOOC charging that can fully replenish the device from 0 per cent in 67 minutes. Moreover, the 4G variant comes with a 6.4-inch 90Hz AMOLED display.
Camera-wise, it sports a 100MP Portrait Camera paired with a 2MP Microlens at its rear and a 32MP selfie camera at the front. The 100MP Portrait Camera is capable of 20x or 40x magnification.
The Reno8 T 4G is also offered in a singular 8/256GB configuration but comes in Midnight Black and Sunset Orange - a vibrant orange colour tone with a premium leather texture created using an upgraded Fibreglass-Leather design.
In Malaysia, the Reno8 T 5G will be available for preorder beginning 7 February 2023 in Sunrise Gold and Midnight Black at RM1799. Furthermore, customers who preorder the Reno8 T 5G will receive free gifts worth RM377, which include the Enco Buds2, 1-year screen protection warranty and 1-year extended warranty. Pre-orders are available at all My OPPO Space, OPPO Brand Stores, OPPO Official Online Store, E-comm partners and authorised dealers.
Meanwhile, the Reno8 T 4G will be available in Sunset Orange and Midnight Black at RM1399. The Enco Air3 is priced at RM249 and comes in White. Both Reno8 T 4G and Enco Air3 will be available to purchase starting from 11 February 2023.
