OPPO Smartphone with Qualcomm powered Dual-Mode 5G to be unveiled by end of 2019

During the 5G summit in Barcelona, OPPO’s Chief 5G Scientist Henry Tang has stated that they plan to release a dual-mode 5G-capable smartphone by the end of 2019. The aforementioned smartphone is able to support both standalone and non-standalone networks, which could vastly improve the 5G the user experience.

Henry has expressed that the efforts of OPPO as well as other industry peers, has paved the way for a higher rate of adoption. As of now, OPPO has filed more than 2500 global patents as well as more than 1000 5G standard essential to ETSI. With all that said, OPPO did not mention which of their smartphones coming out end of this year will be come with the dual-mode 5G capabilities.
