Just a few minutes ago, we spotted a piece of interesting news from @BrianShenYiRen who is the Vice President and President of Global Marketing for OPPO. On his Twitter account, he posted a teaser concept video of the company's latest FreeVOOC which is a feature that can charge a smartphone through the air within 10m of distance.

At the moment, this tech feature will be only available on their unreleased OPPO Ace Infinity. According to Brian, the conceptual smartphone sports a 4-layer conversion technology to charge with up to 10W power within 10m from the FreeVOOC. The short video also showcased how FreeVOOC works, as it was able to locate the phone in real-time with an infrared laser and emit a "dynamic" beam through the phone's side of a nano-scale light.

In addition to that, OPPO's own VOOC Flash Charge Chief, @张加亮 wrote on Weibo that if the phone is not moving, the charging will be locked and this allows the charging to increase gradually. However, if the phone is moved again, the charging will stop and FreeVOOC will scan for it again.

By the way, if you didn't come here from our Facebook post, this is an April Fool's joke which we already gave a head's up (we initially kena punk'd too haha). But hey, we could use a little humour in this Movement Control Order period. Anyway, stay tuned for more trending tech news at TechNave.com.
