OPPO has recently taken fast charging to a whole other level by introducing not only a 150W SUPERVOOC flash charge, but also a 240W version of the same technology. Unveiled during the Mobile World Congress 2022 (MWC), the 240W SUPERVOOC™ flash charge can fully charge a 4500mAh battery from 0% in just 9 minutes.

Given the incredible charging speed, some users have had reservations regarding the new technology, fearing that it may jeopardise battery health. However, OPPO Malaysia in a statement yesterday assured users that this is simply not the case, saying that its SUPERVOOC flash charge comes with a 'Battery Health Engine' that doubles battery lifespan.

Furthermore, OPPO clarified that the technology delivers power at just the right amount of voltage and current. Hence, it minimises battery degradation issues and ensures a longer lifespan for its devices’ batteries.

OPPO further said that its flash charging technology has always been known to be ahead of its time. In 2014, the company introduced the 5V/4A flash charging technology which was the first consumer product of its kind.

With the SUPERVOOC flash charge, OPPO said that users can enjoy smartphones with batteries that last them the entire day. With the ability to fully charge from 0% in just a short amount of time, users would also have the convenience to play, work, and seek inspiration with their ever-ready supercharged OPPO device in hand.
