Most brands try to avoid using different chipsets for smartphones. However, some brands like Samsung do this for different regions. This could be due to demand or limits in a company's stock of chips. Interestingly, OPPO is doing this for its upcoming Find X5 series.

Yesterday, OPPO confirmed that it has plans to launch the OPPO Find X5 Pro with the Dimensity 9000. It's also expected to be the first device to feature MediaTek's new flagship chipset. In addition, the company also announced that the standard and Pro models would have the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chipset.

It looks like OPPO plans to launch the Find X5 and Find X5 Pro using either one of the chipsets, depending on the region. The two phones should launch in China with the Dimensity 9000, while other regions would get the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1. For Malaysia, we'll probably be getting the latter. This is because Qualcomm chipsets have a stronger reputation and higher demand in Malaysia, as can be seen with the Samsung Galaxy S series in recent years.
