OPPO to invest ~RM6.35 billion into OnePlus in new strategic partnership

OnePlus has recently announced a new strategic partnership with its sister company OPPO during the former's 9th-year anniversary event in China. Through the partnership, OPPO will be investing CNY10 billion or ~RM6.35 billion into OnePlus over the next 3 years. 

As reported by GSMArena, this new “dual-brand” strategy is set to make OnePlus the “pioneer brand” for flagship smartphones. Moreover, OnePlus products will have zero net profit margin so as to maintain current price points while having the best and latest features.

Furthermore, in a post on its official Weibo account, OnePlus said that it will go back to its roots by selling its products exclusively online in China. At the same time, customers are able to get repairs for OnePlus devices at OPPO’s service centres throughout China. 

Besides that, OnePlus also announced that its Community app has been re-launched in China to help its fanbase discuss, share and talk about all things OnePlus. This is also part of the company’s efforts to go back to its roots, as the online community is one of the most prominent characteristics of the OnePlus brand since its inception.
