OPPO to use newly announced Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 and 865 for its new 5G smartphones
During the Qualcomm Snapdragon Tech Summit, OPPO announced the highly anticipated OPPO Reno 3 Pro will be equipped with a Snapdragon 765 5G chipset. The OPPO Reno 3 Pro is also said to be the first dual-mode 5G device from the brand, and it will be launching soon this month (probably next year for Malaysia). Other than that, OPPO will also use the newly announced Snapdragon 865 chipset in their flagship 5G smartphone in 2020.
With the 7nm Snapdragon 765 chipset, OPPO Reno 3 Pro is able to support 5G connectivity and the Qualcomm Snapdragon Elite Gaming technology. The earlier rumoured specs also revealed the OPPO Reno 3 will be powered by Snapdragon 735 chipset which supports 5G connectivity as well. It is unsure that the standard variant is going to have a different chipset from the Pro variant. The OPPO Reno 3 series is also rumoured to have 90Hz refresh rate screens.
Other than that, Qualcomm also announced that OPPO will be one of the first companies to launch their flagship 5G smartphone that is equipped with the Snapdragon 865 chipset. The flagship smartphone is said to be coming in the first quarter of 2020.
