Earlier today, we shared how the Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold, the company’s first triple-folding smartphone, will reportedly launch in October. Now, more details about the device have been unearthed, thanks to a teardown of the One UI 8 internal beta code.
Samsung Galaxy Z TriFold will be powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite SoC
Spotted by Android Authority, a dissection of the One UI 8 internal beta reveals a string of code that mentions “siop_q7mq_sm8750.”. This is noteworthy as “q7mq” is known to be the codename for the Galaxy Z TriFold, while “sm8750” is the model number of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
Hence, it alludes to Samsung’s first tri-fold smartphone to be powered by the aforementioned processor. Of course, do take this with a grain of salt, as nothing is confirmed yet.
