According to a new leak from tipster Digital Chat Station, OnePlus would reveal the OnePlus 11 Pro 5G with Qualcomm's upcoming Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip by the end of 2022. The brand only launched the OnePlus 10 Pro 5G equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 chip at the beginning of this year. Could it make it to present another flagship in the same year?

Rumour has it that the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip is a 4nm chip with a 1+2+2+3 architecture design instead of the 1+3+4 seen on the Snapdragon 8 Gen 1 and Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1. It might consist of one Cortex-X3 core, two Cortex-A270 cores, two Cortex-A710 cores, and three Cortex-A510 cores. Furthermore, the SoC is also said to feature the Adreno 740 graphics and the Snapdragon X70 5G modem. A recent leak claimed that the chip would offer a 10 per cent overall performance improvement over the previous generation.

The OnePlus 11 Pro 5G, on the other hand, is said to focus on things like performance and design. It's no doubt that it will come with better cameras with the Hasselblad optimizations and an alert slider, but we hope to see something new other than these. It's worth mentioning that OnePlus might not be the first one to offer a smartphone with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip, as Xiaomi is rumoured to snatch the crown with the Xiaomi 13 and 13 Pro in November.
