A few hours ago, the OnePlus 12 was officially revealed in the US as well as the OnePlus 12R. According to sources, these two phones will be arriving in Malaysia at the price of RM4599 and RM3199, respectively. Here's everything you need to know about the OnePlus 12 series.
Both the OnePlus 12 and 12R look quite identical but the former obviously has bigger camera lenses. So are the displays with a 6.82-inch ProXDR display with LTPO, while the 12R is just slightly shorter with a 6.78-inch AMOLED ProXDR display. Both phones have an adaptive refresh rate from 1-120Hz and are protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus 2.
In terms of interior tech specs, only the OnePlus 12 has the latest Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, two memory configurations - 12GB + 256GB and 16GB + 512GB, and a dual-cell 2700mAh battery pack (making it a total of 5400mAh). Meanwhile, the 12R is still using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chipset and only comes in 16GB + 256GB configuration and a dual-cell 2750mAh battery pack (5500mAh). Both have 100W SUPERVOOC charging speed but the OnePlus 12 has an extra 50W AIRVOOC wireless charging.
The OnePlus 12 is all about the cameras. It features a 50MP Sony LYT-808 main camera (OIS and EIS) + 64MP OmniVision OV64B periscope telephoto with 3X optical zoom, 6X in-sensor zoom (OIS and EIS, digital zoom up to 120x) + 48MP Sony IMX581 ultrawide (EIS) triple rear camera module. The front camera is no pushover either, using a 32MP Sony IMX615 sensor with EIS.
On the other hand, the 12R uses a 50MP Sony IMX890 main camera + 8MP ultrawide + 2MP macro lens. The selfie is just 16MP but at least it has EIS support. Other notable features are the USB C ports but the OnePlus 12 and 12R are using 3.2 and 2.0 versions, respectively, as well as supporting NFC, Doiby Vision and Dolby Atmos sound speakers.
There is no release date for the OnePlus 12R yet but sources say the OnePlus 12 will arrive in Malaysia first on 3 February 2024. Also, only one variant will come which is the 16GB + 512GB model in Flowly Emerald and Silky Black.
