The days of smartphones smaller than 6 inches may be over, but many companies still believe in making smaller (relatively) flagship smartphones. The Xiaomi 15 and vivo X200 Pro mini are good examples. Well, the OnePlus 13R could be in this category too.
Yesterday, tipster Digital Chat Station posted about a 6.3-inch phone with a flat 1.5K resolution screen. Like the Google Pixel series, this phone allegedly features a horizontal rear camera module with a 50MP Sony IMX906 main camera. It also has a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and an optical fingerprint sensor. None of the recent OnePlus smartphones sport a horizontal rear camera module, so this could be for a new series or a redesign.
Interesting, both the OnePlus 13R and OnePlus Ace 5 series are expected to release soon. Note that the Ace series is typically rebranded for global markets as part of the OnePlus Number series. For the Ace 5 series, it would be the OnePlus 13R. Anyway, the OnePlus Ace 5 will feature the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset, while Pro variant will sport the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset.
In our opinion, the highlight here is definitely the horizontal camera module. Is this a design that would fit your taste? Or do you prefer the typical vertical or square camera module? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave for more news like this.
