Now that Android 11 beta 2 is out for testing, some manufacturers have started to test the preview versions on their devices. Previously, OnePlus confirmed you will be able to try it out on the OnePlus 8 series. Now it has confirmed that you'll be able to test Android 11 beta 2 as well.

As OnePlus announced, this Developer Preview 2 is suitable for people who want to try new features or are developers. It's even more evident with the latter group, as they'll be able to ensure the compatibility of apps on both the OnePlus 8 or OnePlus 8 Pro with Android 11 beta 2. And when you consider that a large number of OnePlus users are Android enthusiasts, allowing the update makes a lot of sense.

But if you're planning to do this, expect to run into bugs and other issues. Do note that all data on your device will be wiped 11 upon flashing it to Android 11 beta 2. There's also the chance that you might brick your device and you won't want this to happen if the phone is your daily driver. If you're not sure about what you're doing, it's better to just wait for OnePlus to officially support Android 11.

Honestly, the only advantage of this is that you'll be able to test some new Android 11 features earlier than others. It might be worth it if you have an extra phone, but what do you think? Let us know in the comments on our Facebook page and stay tuned to TechNave.com for more news.
