The OnePlus Ace 2 was officially released in China today and will be available from 13 February 2023. Featuring a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, it will come in 2 variants with the base variant of 12GB RAM + 256GB storage coming in at 2799 Yuan (~RM1744) while the 12GB RAM + 512GB storage variant is priced from 3099 Yuan (~RM1965).

Other notable tech specs and features includes a 6.74-inch AMOLED display with 2772 x 1240 pixel resolution, 1450 nits peak brightness, 100 percent DCI P3 color gamut, Asahi Glass AGC protection and 40Hz ~ 120Hz adaptive refresh rate. Weighing in at 204 grams and measuring 8.7mm thick, the device also has an alert slider.

OnePlus wanted to focus on their 5177mm² eight channel dissipation VC cooling which they say is 2x more effective than VC liquid cooling. The phone is powered by a 5000 mAh battery with 100W SuperVOOC fast charging as well while the triple rear camera setup consists of a 50MP Sony IMX890 sensor with OIS + 8MP ultra wide angle + 2MP macro. On the front, there’s a punch hole for the 16MP selfie camera.

Since we said it’s a China release, quite obviously there’s no Malaysia release dates or pricing details. However, it does seem like a performance midranger with former flagship specs, especially for all those OnePlus fans who wanted an alert slider.

Too bad there’s no other dedicated gaming features aside from the cooling, else we’d say this could be the midrange gaming phone to beat. What do you think? Would you buy the OnePlus Ace 2 if it arrived here in Malaysia? Let us know in the comments below and stay tuned to TechNave.com.
