With Android 13, Google introduced Spatial Audio functionality similar to the ones found on the Apple Airpods Pro lineup. If you’re an Android user and want to utilise this feature, then the upcoming OnePlus Buds Pro 2 is a good purchase as it is the first TWS earbuds to support the feature.

In a statement today, OnePlus Malaysia said that the Spatial Audio found on the Buds Pro 2 has been optimised to simulate the immersive multi-dimensional experience found in theatres. Using OnePlus’ spatial rendering algorithm and IMU sensor, the Buds Pro 2 added stability and compatibility with app expansions, while enabling other applications to use its technology.

OnePlus further elaborated that the Buds Pro 2 offers seamless connection by utilising Google’s Fast Pair and Audio Switching features. For the former, it allows the buds to quickly connect to nearby Android devices in one tap. As for the latter, it enables connection to two Android devices simultaneously and seamlessly switches the audio between them based on your actions.

The Buds Pro 2 will be launched outside of China at the OnePlus Cloud 11 Event on 7 February 2023. As of the time of writing, the official price of the earbuds in Malaysia has yet to be revealed by OnePlus.
